Bangkok Day 4: Platinum Mall, Airport Rush, & A Nostalgic Farewell

Updated: Mar 24

And just like that, the final day of my Bangkok adventure was here! From the glamour of Louis Vuitton World to the tranquillity of a Korean spa and the ultimate shopping spree on Day 3, every moment was incredible. But today was different—it was all about slowing down, exploring at my own pace, and soaking in the last few hours before heading home.

A Slow Morning with Sauna & Steam Therapy

Unlike the past few jam-packed days, we decided to take it easy this morning. But before diving into the day, I wanted to relax and unwind, so I woke up early to enjoy a soothing sauna and steam bath with my mom.

As we exited our room, the weather felt magicallight rain, chilly winds, and a dreamy atmosphere that made Bangkok feel even more surreal. Walking through the hotel in that weather felt like a movie scene, and I just knew this was the perfect way to start the final day.

The sauna and steam room were huge, well-maintained, and impeccably hygienic. It had lockers, shower rooms, and a spacious dressing area, making the experience super comfortable. The warmth of the steam felt like a hug for the soul, and for those few moments, I forgot we were leaving Bangkok soon.

Feeling completely refreshed, we got ready and headed straight for a relaxed breakfast before parting ways—some went shopping, others explored Bangkok’s streets, and I finally made my way to Platinum Mall, just a minute's walk from my hotel. Somehow, in the past three days, I hadn’t found the time to explore it, but I knew this was my last chance to see if the hype was real.

Platinum Mall: The Ultimate Shopper’s Paradise

The moment I stepped inside, I instantly understood the buzz.

Platinum Mall isn’t just a shopping center—it’s a gigantic, multi-floor shopping universe that offers everything you could imagine.

  • 4+ floors dedicated to fashion, accessories, and more

  • Women’s, men’s, and kids’ clothing and even home décor

  • Trendy Korean, Thai, and quirky street fashion

  • Luxury-inspired second copies (you name the brand, they have it!)

  • Budget-friendly finds, nightwear, swimwear, and unique kitchenware

Each floor was divided into sections, making it easy to navigate. The women’s section alone had so many options that it was overwhelming in the best way possible!

If you're planning a shopping spree in Bangkok, take my advice:

🔥 Tip: Keep an empty suitcase when traveling to Bangkok, and make Platinum Mall your first stop, not the last! You’ll want to shop till you drop, and trust me, you won’t have enough space in your luggage if you visit this place at the end of your trip.

With my wallet finally ready to take a hit, I got myself:

  • A cute Korean-style long coat

  • A swimsuit for my next getaway

  • Some trendy co-ord sets and dresses

  • A few accessories and winter essentials for Delhi’s chilly weather

If you or anyone you know misses Shein, then Platinum Mall is the perfect alternative!

Lunch at Pratunam Market & Last-Minute Shopping

After an intense shopping spree, lunch was a must! We made our way to Chotivala at Pratunam Market, a hidden gem for Indian food lovers. Every dish was pure delight—the perfect way to wrap up my food adventures in Bangkok.

Before heading back, we made a quick stop for fresh coconut water (because hydration is key!) and picked up:

Woolen socks for Delhi’s winter

Hand fans and accessories

Gifts for nieces, nephews, and grandkids back home

Saying Goodbye at Suvarnabhumi Airport

With our shopping bags full and time running out, we hurried back to the hotel, collected our luggage from the cloakroom, and headed straight to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

And wow—what a grand airport it was!

🌟 The highlight? The magnificent three-headed dragon statue in the center depicting the legendary Samudra Manthan story. It was an absolute sight to behold, and of course, everyone wanted pictures in front of it.

As we walked through the airport, we passed massive luxury storesGucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, and more, each with huge digital displays outside. It was tempting to step inside, but with customs to claim and a flight to catch, there was no time to shop.

The only thing we managed to grab? Dried mango candies—a classic Thai treat! They were so good that we couldn’t stop munching on them every day after returning home.

🔥 Tip: If you’re traveling through Suvarnabhumi Airport, get to your gate early. It’s massive, and you might end up boarding at the last call like we did—running to the gate with final announcements in the background! 😂

A Nostalgic Flight with Chandler Bing

Once we finally made it onto the flight, it was time to unwind, plug in my headphones, and relax.

I ended up watching a few episodes of Friends, followed by Matthew Perry’s documentary—"Matthew Perry: Not Just Friends."💔

Watching it made me realize how much Chandler Bing’s character meant to an entire generation. Perry wasn’t just an actor; he was a source of comfort and laughter for so many.

Here are some life lessons he left behind:

"Could I BE any more sarcastic?" – A reminder to always find humor, even in tough times.

"I'm not great at advice, but can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?" Sometimes, just being there for someone is enough.

"You have to stop the Q-tip when there's resistance." Life isn’t always about pushing through—sometimes, you need to step back and reflect.

🔥 Tip: If you haven’t yet watched "Matthew Perry: Not Just Friends," take some time to appreciate his legacy. His wit, charm, and struggles behind the scenes make it a must-watch.

Bangkok, You’ll Be Missed

As the flight soared over Bangkok, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for this trip—the memories, the food, the shopping, and the experiences that made every moment unforgettable.

Until next time, Bangkok! K̄hx k̄hxbkhuṇ! (Thank you!) 💛
